If an employee has individual coverage and adds a dependent due to birth or adoption, can the rest of the family also be added at that time – even if they are not currently covered at all? Or do they have to wait for open enrollment?

Answer from General Agent: I just checked with BCBSTX and not all qualifying events allow for this. Yet, in this situation since it is due to birth/adoption, it does open it up for all family members.
